As a butcher at Forte's Market, I’m delighted to offer you my freshly baked sourdough bread! Thanks to Forte's Market, you can conveniently pick up your orders at their location.

Please note that my license allows for personal sales only. Forte's graciously allows Chef Jeff to sell his bread on their premises. Each loaf is made to order. Pickup is available on a designated day each week.

Meet Chef Jeff

A Culinary Journey from Fine Dining to Artisanal Sourdough

After 44 years of culinary adventures across America, Chef Jeff has found his true passion in the art of sourdough bread making. From the bustling kitchens of Yale University as executive chef, to teaching the next generation of chefs as professor of culinary arts, Jeff's journey has been as rich and varied as the flavors in his bread.

A globe-trotting culinary explorer, Jeff has stirred pots in Madrid, kneaded dough in Paris, and crafted delicacies east in Tokyo and south to Rio. But it was in retirement that he discovered his calling – crafting the perfect loaf of sourdough.

In his custom-designed home kitchen, Jeff nurtures a very special sourdough starter. This living culture, born from his years of experience in bread baking, winemaking, artisanal cheese making, and microbiology, is the secret behind his exceptional bread.

Each loaf of Chef Jeff's sourdough is a small masterpiece. Tangy yet rich, with a creamy, moist interior and that irresistible chewy texture, his bread is more than just food – it's a culinary experience.

Now, thanks to Connecticut's Cottage Food License, Chef Jeff can share his artisanal creations with you. Every bite of his sourdough tells a story – of a passionate chef, a lifelong learner, and a man who found his greatest joy in the simple pleasure of baking bread.
